Roles & responsibilities:
System Development & Integration
- Specify and select vision hardware/software for automated inspection systems.
- Lead installation, setup, and tuning of vision systems on molding and assembly equipment.
- Collaborate with machine builders, automation engineers, and suppliers for seamless integration.
Pixel-Level Engineering & Defect Coding
- Conduct pixel-level image analysis to define inspection parameters and thresholds.
- Establish and maintain defect code libraries, categorizing part-level and assembly-level failure modes (e.g., flash, short shot, burn marks, contamination, dimensional variance, missing components, misalignment).
- Translate defect definitions into vision system logic, ensuring consistent classification across production lines.
- Continuously refine defect codes and detection algorithms to reduce false positives/negatives.
